Here is an Exclusive Interview with Music Director Abhishek SN.

Tulucinema.com: How you got involved as a music director?
Abhishek SN: Music journey started only since 2012. I wasn’t into any form of music till then. I used to sing and write for myself. It all started when I thought of composing some music to whatever I had written. Once I had put a vocal tune to it, I started experimenting with Music Programming software’s and played the keyboard for it by trial and error. I dint know how to play a keyboard too then. Gradually one song was done ad I made my friends in the film industry to listen to it. Most of them seemed to like it, so I continued and gradually made 9 songs. And released a Kannada music album called Neralaagi in 2013. Neralaagi was the biggest independent music of those days. Rocking Star Yash loved it and released it himself. Each song was released by other people in the Kannada industry, like Directors, Music directors, Actresses etc. So this gave me lot of confidence in the field of music and that was how it all began.

Tulucinema.com: You also have photography page which has 24k fans, so how would you like to showcase yourself as photographer or as a music director?
Abhishek SN: I was a screenwriter before getting in to music for Kannada films. While I was busy doing music for Kannada and Tulu films, screenwriting took a backseat in the meantime, photography was a new interest. I developed it and started doing lot of model shoots. I don’t want to showcase myself as anything of those. I do all of these for my happiness. I even work as a software engineer. So, I guess, people would always see me as either a Software engineer or writer or photographer or music composer or even sometimes as a singer.

Tulucinema.com: How was your experience in Tulu industry? Without knowing a Tulu language, how were you able to manage with songs?
Abhishek SN: Tulu Industry was just going to the next stage when I entered it. This gave us an opportunity to experiment. We did Nirel and then came Dhand. Knowing Tulu was not a mandate for making music. I just need to understand the emotions and culture of the people and also what they would like to hear. Thanks to the lyricists for giving some wonderful lines for my songs.

Tulucinema.com: Any up-coming projects in Tulu Cinema?
Abhishek SN: I did not consider anything after Dhand in Tulu, after making music for a short film called Parba. The reason was because I wanted to get back to film making which was my dream before I started doing music. I am now directing a 1 Hour psychological thriller film called Oppanda and also writing dialog’s for couple of Kannada films.

Tulucinema.com: So no more music for Tulu Cinema?
Abhishek SN: I have kept my options open for Tulu, in case the project I am offered is very promising. But I would surely do more of Tulu music Next year when i come full time into cinema. Remember, I still work for a software company now, 9 to 6pm.

Tulucinema.com: Overall how was experience in Tulu industry?
Abhishek SN: Experience in Tulu industry was the best in fact. I have loved the response which people gave for my song Serrnaga and Daane from Nirel. I got to work with great singers like Sonu Nigam in Dhand.

Tulucinema.com: Any message to Tulu cinema fans?
Abhishek SN: Sure. I am seeing a very bright future for Tulu Cinema Industry if they make great quality films in terms of scripts. The Tulu cinema fans have a lot to enjoy in the future, looking at the trend today. I also request the Tulu cinema fans to come to the theatre more on the first weekend of any Tulu cinema release. It would help producers to sustain the film for longer time.
